Sur le circuit de Montréal, il a battu l'actuel champion du monde Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) de plus de neuf secondes, tandis que la troisième place est revenue à Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes). Red Bull célèbre également sa 100e victoire en Formule 1.
